As the July 4th holiday quickly approaches, fireworks are often part of the festivities. While they can be exciting and enjoyable, fireworks also pose serious fire and injury risks if not handled properly. The Granville Fire Company encourages everyone in our community to celebrate safely and responsibly.

Here are some important fireworks safety tips to keep in mind:

πŸ”₯ Know the Law
Only use legal consumer fireworks in Pennsylvania.

Never use fireworks on public property or where they are prohibited by local ordinance.

🧯 Practice Fire Safety
Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby when using fireworks.

Never ignite fireworks indoors or near dry grass, brush, or flammable materials.

Do not relight β€œdud” fireworks. Wait 20 minutes and then soak them in water.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Keep Kids Safe
Never allow children to handle or light fireworks.

Always have adult supervision when fireworks are in use.

Sparklers burn at extremely high temperatures and can cause serious injuries β€” use with caution.

πŸš‘ Be Prepared for Emergencies
If someone is injured, seek medical attention immediately.

In case of fire, call 911 right away.

🚫 Leave It to the Pros
The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a professional show. Let trained experts handle the firepower so you can sit back and enjoy the celebration.
