| As we prepare to “spring forward” tonight for Daylight Saving Time, the Granville Fire Company would like to remind everyone that this is a great time to check the batteries in your home’s smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. When you set your clocks ahead one hour tonight, take a few extra minutes to make sure all of your detectors are working properly. Replace the batteries in each unit and test them to ensure they sound when the test button is pressed. Working detectors provide an early warning that can give you and your family valuable time to escape during an emergency. It’s also a good idea to: * Make sure smoke detectors are installed on every level of your home and outside sleeping areas A working smoke or carbon monoxide detector can save lives. Taking a few minutes during the time change to check them is a simple step that can make a big difference in keeping your family safe. If you live in our primary coverage area we can provide you with FREE smoke detectors for your home. Visit https://www.granvillefire16.org/content/detector/ for more info.
